HGV Training for Lanarkshire: Motherwell, Hamilton and Eurocentral
Lanarkshire is where a very large share of Scotland's distribution sits. If you live beside the warehouses, the licence is the only thing between you and the vacancies.
We train Lanarkshire drivers from our Glasgow base, around twenty five minutes up the M74 or M8 from most of the area. Category C at £1,695 suits the rigid work across the local estates, while C+E at £2,895 is what the Eurocentral and Bellshill trunking operators recruit for.
Why Class 1 pays off faster here than almost anywhere
The concentration of national distribution centres between Eurocentral, Bellshill and Newhouse means articulated work is on the doorstep rather than an hour away. Drivers from Lanarkshire who stop at Category C often come back within a year for C+E once they see what the trunking rates are.
Fitting training round shift work
- 1Tell us your current shift pattern before we look at dates.
- 2We block consecutive days where possible so you travel once, not repeatedly.
- 3The D4 medical and theory are arranged early so nothing holds up the practical.
- 4Test dates are booked as part of the course, so there is no separate fee to find.
Warehouse to cab is a common move here
A lot of our Lanarkshire trainees already work inside the distribution estates as pickers, loaders or shunters. They know the sites, the traffic office and the paperwork already, which is a genuine advantage at interview and makes the training itself easier to absorb.
Employers funding drivers
Sponsored drivers are routine for us. We invoice companies directly, and operators frequently combine a licence upgrade for one or two drivers with periodic Driver CPC at £55 per seven hour course for the rest of the team.
Questions we get asked about this
Usually twenty five to thirty five minutes depending on the M74 and M8, and less if you start before the morning peak, which most of our training days do.
Class 1, that is C+E at £2,895, matches the trunking work around Eurocentral and Bellshill. Class 2 at £1,695 suits local rigid, tipper and municipal work.
Yes. We invoice companies directly and regularly train groups of drivers for the same operator.
Yes, both are comfortably inside our catchment and are a straightforward run in on the A80 or M8.

Once I passed my theory/hazard perception test, I the took my C1 training with Jordan, who made my driving experience a pleasure, Jordan was patient and made me feel at ease the whole time I was driving: advising on things I might change and letting me know when I had driven well etc, really relaxed me to the point of passing my test 1st time after 10hrs of lessons. Very happy customer.
