Transport Manager CPC Exams: Papers, Format and How to Prepare
The two examination papers, what each one asks of you, and the preparation that separates a first attempt pass from a resit.
The Transport Manager CPC is assessed by two papers: a multiple choice paper testing knowledge across the syllabus, and a case study paper where you apply that knowledge to a realistic operator scenario. Both must be passed, and they can be sat and resat independently.
Paper one: multiple choice
This paper ranges across the whole syllabus, so it rewards steady coverage rather than deep knowledge of one area. Expect questions on drivers hours limits, licensing categories, financial standing, employment law basics and vehicle standards. Precise figures matter, which is why classroom time is spent drilling the numbers you must recall.
Paper two: case study
You are given an operator scenario and asked to work through it as the transport manager would: identify the compliance failings, calculate what the law allows, and set out what you would do. Marks are lost more often for vague answers than for wrong ones, so the course teaches you to answer in the structure the examiner is marking against.

Case study questions build on each other, and a detail in the last question often changes your answer to the second.
Show the calculation
Drivers hours and costing answers carry method marks, so write the working even if the final figure is wrong.
Answer as a manager
Say what you would do and why, not just what the rule is.
Watch the clock
Unanswered questions score nothing, so allocate time per section before you start writing.
Resits
If you pass one paper and not the other, only the failed paper needs to be retaken. Tell us which paper you are resitting and we will focus your preparation on that alone rather than repeating the whole course.

Best experience for driver training I've come across! 1st time pass on my class 1 with ease. Tom top lad easy to get on with and plenty experience and Davey is brand new helped out a lot through the process.
